why no-one wears colours here

On days like this it's a bit hard to find inspiration to start making new photos. Light is even, there's no change in the air- only gray. But I had my camera with me so I tried it anyhow. (This was yesterday. )

Today there's more light- sky is blue and we were planning some new exhibitions coming next year. So exciting. Next april there will be a big photography festival in Helsinki- and we'll be also participating in that. I will surely talk more about this later- about who is "we" and so on. The most important thing about today was to get excited again, not let the gray sky get you. Or maybe it was because I had two cups of coffee too much..

Art Fair Suomi 2011 - part II

Art Fair Suomi 2011 is a massive event with about 600 works of art on display. I was there thursday working a little bit. While there, I got to look at the works of course. I wish I had had my camera to take some photos.

Though it's a fair, it's a good place to take a look at Finnish Contemporary Art of today. It's an interesting combination of photographic art, video art, performance art, sound art, drawing and painting. Photographic art is taking the biggest part of the exhibition (The Union of Artist Photographers being the other participant, the other is Artists' Association MUU).

Tomorrow Sunday is the last day of the fair. 14h00 there's a performance by Varpu Lukka and 15h00 painter Katja Tukiainen talks about her favorite works there. Go visit at Cable Factory.

Art Fair Suomi 2011

Art Fair 2011 is opening friday, and lasts till 18th of September. I have three works there. Exhibition is at Cable Factory and it combines the artists from Union of Artist Photographers and Artists' Association MUU. 200 Artists and about 600 Works of Art. Go visit if you can.
